This was also the third time that the contest has been held online. To increase its international influence, organizers opened official "Water Cube Cup" accounts for the first time on major overseas social media platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. The global finals were broadcast live via the contest's official YouTube channel and on China's leading video-streaming service provider iQiyi.

This year's contest has become more open and inclusive and accepted music of all genres, as a way of promoting mutual learning between contemporary culture and global trends.
