Mid-Autumn Guochao Carnival

The 2022 Mid-Autumn Guochao Carnival, featuring a variety of activities, will start on Sept. 11 (the 16th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar) at the National Aquatics Center, also known as "Ice Cube." You can sign up right now.

Activity 1: Guofeng-style Figure Skating Competition

On the evening of Sept. 11, the first Ice Cube Guofeng-Style Figure Skating Competition will be held in the Ice Cube. Contestants must be dressed in Guofeng style, or "traditional Chinese style," and show their talents while skating. You can showcase your extraordinary skating skills, act out a love story, or show your dance moves. In short, use your imagination and get creative! If skating isn't your forte, you can sign up to join our public judges and determine the final score.

Activity 2: Guochao-style Electronic Music Prom on Ice

After the figure skating competition, contestants and public judges will step onto the ice for our Full Moon Party! The party will feature traditional Chinese electronic music, Guochao-style masks, Chinese pastries, cold-brewed tea, glow sticks, and ice games.There will also be some surprises from top stars.

Activity 3: Appreciating lights and the moon in the South Square of Ice Cube

After the party is over, you can go to the Ice Cube's South Square to look at the lights and the moon. Enjoy the beauty of the starry snow, the Ice Cube at night, and the moon's reflection. Participants can take photos of the beautiful scenery and say farewell to the Ice Cube.

Sign-up method

Please send the following information to the following mailbox (mail subject: Activity sign-up): ice-sports-center@water-cube.com

1. Photos of you and any fellow group members in Guofeng style.

2. Program introduction in written words or in pictures with captions. The duration of your program— no more than 3 minutes.

3.Background music (Guofeng-style music only)

4.Self-introduction (It should contain the name, ID number, phone number, and age of each contestant, and one sentence to describe your ice-skating level.)

After review and selection, 10-15 groups of contestants will be chosen, and the selected contestants will be announced in the follow-up articles on the official account.

The top 100 applicants will obtain the public judge qualification, and the name list will be announced later in follow-up articles on the official account.

Selection method

The public judges will vote on-site, and each public judge will get five sachets. After each contestant's performance, if the public judge thinks the program is excellent, they can throw any number of sachets into the field. The final number of votes shall be subject to the number of sachets.

Epidemic prevention policy

Complete the registration by scanning the QR code in the mini-program Jiankangbao (Beijing Health Kit). You must provide a negative nucleic acid testing certificate within 72 hours and have no travel history in medium and high-risk areas in the last 14 days.

Tips

Due to the event, individual visitors and card-holding members will not be allowed to enter the skating rink from 17:00 to 21:00 on Sept. 11. Everybody is welcome to sign up for the event. All activities are free of charge.
