Nearly 1,000 works by young Chinese artists went on display on Sept. 29 at Beijing's National Aquatics Center, showcasing emerging talent from the country's top art schools and leading universities.
The exhibition, titled "2025 Wave · Youth," transforms the dual-Olympic venue into a national platform for young artists, featuring paintings, sculptures, digital art and multimedia video.
The show includes two main sections focused on multimedia and digital art. The multimedia-themed section, located in the venue's northern wing, features works that combine traditional artistic methods with experimental cross-disciplinary approaches.
The digital art section, the exhibition's most futuristic element, features digital installations and AI-generated works by young artists. The display focuses on the intersection of technology and art, offering interactive experiences that go beyond traditional gallery formats.
The exhibition highlights the talent of China's young artists while illustrating how Olympic venues can be repurposed for cultural use.
Co-funded by overseas Chinese and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots, the National Aquatics Center has hosted cultural events for more than a decade since the 2008 Olympic Games, earning international recognition as a model for sustainable venue management.
The exhibition runs through Oct. 31.
